What type of ants lay these type of eggs? Please help...

Hi all,

I'm quite new to gardening and hope that this is the right forum to post my message.

I have been using pine bark mulch under my plants (mainly roses) and today I discovered a lot of small transparent yellow eggs under my mulch.
I suspect these are ant eggs since I've only seen ants around my roses and no other insects in particular.

Underneath is a picture which I took this morning. Can anyone tell me what type of ants lay these type of eggs? (I would like to know the specific name). I've been searching the internet but couldn't find eggs that look like these. The eggs are about 1/8 inch in diameter.

BTW I immediately sprinkled cornmeal around my roses and I also used Terro liquid ant killer. I didn't find Terro very effective. For cornmeal results I've been reading it will take awhile before seeing any results.
In the past I've also used soap and neem oil without any results.

Please help Thanks in advance
