Hello,

I'm just looking for any kind of help...maybe a point in the right direction to getting a garden off of the ground. My wife and I will start a garden this weekend and I'm doing a little research before we get started. We really don't have any ideas other then we want to plant veggies. It's going to be an area in the backyard(est.6X12). We don't have any experence at all...so this will be a new thing for us.

--Where would I find out what I can plant during different seasons down here(we really don't have a winter..it gets down to 40s for maybe a week or two most winters(depends if the cold fronts make it down here)...maybe a night or two in the 30s).

--What do I need to do to the soil before we get started, if anything?

--Do I need to enclose the garden for shade and protection from birds?

--there is probably alot of questions that I don't know to ask..so feel free to leave any advice...
