I hope someone can help!! We had a 20x40 inground vinyl lined pool installed 3 years ago. The year it was installed there were no problems. The second year when opening, we had a floating liner. We pumped the water out from behind the liner and smoothed out the wrinkles. This year we had the same problem, except after pumping out the water, and appling vaccum, the liner is still about 3 inches out from the wall. It appears that the liner cannot stretch anymore. Also, this year the pool appears to be losing about an inch of water a day. We cannot find any leaks in the liner by the naked eye. We contacted a pool company who said we would need to have a sump pump installed near the pool wall to correct the groundwater problem ($3,500) and if we had to replace the liner, it would be another $2500. We are so frustrated and upset, as we don't have a lot of money to invest in this. Our ground did not perk well when we built our house, so we do have a very clay soil that does not get rid of water easily. We are at a loss of what to do. Thanks Gena

HI, It would seem to me that the original installers didn't do a very good job. Perhaps you can convince them to try and remedy the problem before you try some "legal" means of recourse. Liners can shrink & do need replacment every so often. There are lots of websites devoted to pool maintenance that may help you to decide what to do next. Good Luck!

Hi Gena: As you can guess, I'm interested in finding successful solutions to those owners of pools that for reasons such as yours need a solution to all the problems associated with owning and maintaing pools. Presently, I have no good ideas for you but would like to find out what you end up doing in the end. If I locate a solution for your problem I'll pass it on to you.

| The water keeps running from the run off pipe when the control vale is on the recirculation. I can only stop it by cutting off the skimmer valves. Everything else is operational. I fo see some water on the face plates grooves of the varied control valves. What could the matter be?

Has anyone had a leak in their gunite pool? I have an old 40x24 ft gunite pool that leaks. The water levels out about 2 feet down (1/2 way down the pool light). I have tried the proffesional dye, plugged the light and still the leak continues. How can i find the leak without a major investment? Thanks so much!
