| HELP! Our screw drive garage door opener has a problem. It won't open or close....just sounds like it's working. If you manually close it & then disengage the door via the rope & then re-engage it the it will open & close maybe once and then it stops again. What would cause this? |

| When it sounds as if it's running but not working , "is the screw turning"? 1. If it's not turning, remove the overhead drive's cover and look for stripped or worn gears. 2. If the screw is turning when running but no door engagement, look for stripped or worn gears at screw/engager. |
