Need advice on turf/sod lifters

Planning on removing some turf for a newly planned perennial garden. Looking on-line for a turf or sod lifter and have seen various prices. Is there a great difference in quality between the $37 Bully Tools model and the $70 Ames Co. model? That is a big difference in prices. Don't want the thing to bend or break in the middle of a hard job. Anyone have experience with these two brands?

Why not check with the local rental shops? They often have self-propelled sod cutters that will make short work of a tough job. Some shops will rent for a 4 hr period. All you have to do is guide it along while someone else rolls the sod into manageable lengths and then cuts them with a square-edged spade or an edging tool. Much easier than busting your cojones using one of the tools you mentioned.
