I must own the snowblower from hell. Today while going through 4 ft drift I hear clink very regularl. Then a cluck and it died. I hear the engine trying to start but nothing. Sounds like something inside the engine. Any suggestions. Piston rod maybe.

Got cylinder head off. When I cranked the engine the piston did not move. Rods were fine. I'm thinking its the connecting rod. How do I get to this? Thanks Bruce

Yup, the connecting rod has grenaded. What are the engine model and type numbers? You could remove and disassemble the engine but then what? Probably farther ahead to install a short block if available or a new engine.
