1. Please post a pic of sprocket and any other areas in question.
2. Do you have a parts diagram? If not, try and find one which should be helpful.

From looking at my repair job on my 14â Mac at the address below, I feel the sprocket might not have to come off the clutch/gear box (or E-Clipped). Thanks for your concern. This has alerted me that I d/n save the major pics or miss filed them. IâÂÂll hope to find my other pics and please share yours and any questions.

1. In the pic shown, splines allowed my disassembly w/o removing the sprocket.
2. From a pinched bar I c/n visualize what popped inside, feel it will be seen if needed.
3. Possibly a fusible link blew. It sounds like an electrical matter. Was there a smell?
4. I feel a quick test X elet-break. Ohm meter gives a sweep from plugâÂÂs prongs, switching saw on/off.
5. Did you try to run the saw w/o the bar/chain after or it appears dead electrically?
6. Did the Chain Break make the popping noise as it locked the saw, if it locked?
7. Take good pics with saw laid out in order vs in a pan, showing parts sequence.
8. Re-installing brushes was my challenge that I would avoid even knowing the Tricks.

Thanks for your interest, Loger. Most electric chainsaws (and probably your McCulloch) have a motor that sticks out to one side so it is fairly straightforward to unbolt the motor housing. My Husqvarna has the motor in-line with the saw - I guess there must be some bevel gears to turn the output from the motor through 90 degrees to power the drive sprocket. It is necessary to split the casings to get at the motor, but the casings won't come apart unless the sprocket is removed. There is a tiny Allen socket (maybe 2mm) in the middle of the sprocket but far too small for any real force to be applied to an Allen key that fits it.

1. See parts at address below that could be close to yours. The small screw is not taking a load vs assembly.
2. What keeps the other side from coming Off? I would apply some torque to that small screw.
3. At listed price and the Bullet Proof bragging, I think a Husky Tech would share some tips.
4. A number of youtubs at the 1st address below, some of those techs vs Husky will reply to Quests.
