The opener is a Overhead model 496cd/b and won't close recently when early morning sun shines on the door. It works okay when not sunnny , go figure. Do I need new sensors it is 9 yrs old ? Thanks

Well, ya could give the garage a quarter turn-might fix it! And, yes, some new sensors might help, maybe only one.

Maybe you have those lights at the bottom sides of the door to make the door go up if someone tries to walk under the door when it's closing. The sunlight could be tricking the sensors to indicate someone walking past them.

tape a piece of carboard to shield the lens from direct sunlight and see what happen.

I've heard the cardboard tube inside a roll of toilet tissue will work for this problem.

Reverse them, put the sender where the reciver is and reciever where the sender is.
