What is a real good battery jump starter for my car/truck. I have had a few and they just don't last a long time. I'm tired of wasting my money for junk.

I have a Century "Jump 1000" I rescued from a dumpster 5 yrs ago. I've recharged it on average once a yr and it's still working great. I think you'll have better luck throwing dice nowadays,LOL!!

RE: Battery Jump Starters

dunmore, I've had a Sears unit for about 4 years, and have had good service from it. It has a small compressor, worklight, and both AC and DC outlets. I jump-start some piece of equipment every week with it, and carry it in my car to help folks out that are stranded at 7-11 with a dead battery or low tire. It has seen LOTS of use. I don't know the model number, but it retails for around $100 (maybe $120), and is sometimes offered on sale for about $80 - $90. If it dies tomorrow, I will buy another one immediately. CONS: heavy; jumper cables are only 18" - 2' long.
