Mantis tiller air filters

scaly

I have a 7 year old mantis 2cycle tiller. I'm out of air cleaners. Does anyone know if they are sold anyplace else besides mantis? Mantis only offers a kit with oil, plug and other stuff I don't want. I sent them an e-mail asking for info on just purchasing the air filters and they never responded.

    What engine does it have?

They have an Echo engine. If no dealer nearby- go to Home Depot with the airfilter in hand and you will likely find a match- or one close enough to trim.

Let your fingers do the walking. I found them on E-bay last year. Also they are available at some lawnmower repair shops that service and sell Mantis.

    Happy hunting, rredogg

An addendum to my previous post. Looked through my notes on garden equipment. The mantis air filers stock no is
    Mantis Rototiller- 13031004560

Do a web search or try e-bay.

    Good luck-rredeogg

Planopower sell them. I've bought lots of stuff from them in the past. The problem you run into is the shipping cost if you buy just one small item.

Here is a link that might be useful: Planopower

Depot should have them. They are the same filter as used on many Echo's.The Mantis # is the same as the Echo.

One of the important underlying issues here is why
doesn't Mantis sell their "Customers" the parts they
need, without packaging them up with overpriced
extra items that the "Customer" does not want?
Seems they are only intersted in selling the machine
and couldn't be bothered with helping the "Customers"
they already have. If you look around, the companies
that take care of their "Customers" are the companies
that have been around for a long time.

A few years ago I called Mantis and ordered some air filters ala carte. I assume you could do that today. They don't list individual parts on their web site though. Has anyone tried calling? I'm as lazy as the next guy, but sometimes you need to actually call :)

They never responded to the e-mail from Scaly.
And they are not the only company ignoring e-mails.
I know, I know, they had to cut back on employees
and the first one to go was the one that checked
and responded to e-mails. Then they should take
that "Contact Us" option off their WEB page.

I'd like to let you know that you can purchase all items from the Handy Item Kit as individual pieces @ 1-800-366-6268. There is a $5.00 minimum s/h fee on all parts orders; we ship UPS ground. You'll need the SV # of the engine to be sure you get the correct parts for your specific engine - quite honestly the only different would be the spark plug. I'd also like to let you know that all emails we receive are answered within 24 hours, however some do get returned as undeliverable. Hope this info helps!

Good Morning Phyllisfrommantis, thank you for restoring
my faith in the American business world. I'm sure you
yourself have tried to contact businesses via e-mail,
only to have them ignore you. As you say, many of them
are answered and fall into the 'undeliverable' category,
but there are also many that are simply ignored. I'm
glad Mantis is not one of those companies.
I too have owned a Mantis for several years, and never
knew I could get individual parts. The Mantis is
a really great little tiller and I haven't had the need
for parts yet. Like Scaly, I was also put off by the
apparent need to purchase things I don't need, or want,
just to get one item in a 'kit'.
I also now know that some manufacturers are watching
such forums as this, and hopefully seeing some of their
customer's frustrations, and will follow your example
of trying to help those customers. Thank you again.

I found them from a Mantis dealer in Europe. I am currently trying to locate them again for myself-they sell just the filters.CJ

Take the filter to Home Depot or same kind of store or to a dealer to match one up. Newer Mantis use Echo 21.2cc engine that is used on all their hedge trimmers and small string trimmer. You should have no problem finding it. I don't know about the older ones. Go on Mantis site to find out what engine is yours. They have parts diagram for all different years that show different engines. E-mail to them and ask. They are very good. You might be able to order from them if it is not the Echo engine.

Mine is about the same age. It is a two stroke engine and the tiller model is 7225.

The Home Depot part number that I found is Echo number 130310-045-60. I imagine that the Echo part number is the same anywhere.
