MTD Yard Machines chipper / shredder

I've tried a search but can't seem to access any of the links???

We too are looking for a chipper / shredder. I've found two so far that we are considering.

Yard Machines 11.5GT (7.5 HP) 250cc Briggs and Stratton Engine. It says it does 3" chipping and 1/4" brush. Mostly we will be using it for garden waste not large branches. Cost is a little under $1000 canadian.

Other option is Bearcat 3206. 8HP.

Any thoughts.

No comparison. The Bearcat is a far stouter machine, will do a better job and last a lot longer. We sell a lot of parts for the MTD.

Thanks canguy -- based on that I will take another look at the Bearcat. Is it possible to tow the bearcat behind my estate tractor? It seems like a heavier model and the distance between my barn & compost pile is quite a ways with a small uphill.

The 8hp version has an optional tow bar available that can be hooked to a lawn tractor or ATV.
