Thinking about getting an electric corded as it's easy enough to load the genset on a garden cart and drive over there.

I use an Auxiliary 12V Power Outlet (Installed on one of the riders) and a Whistler 800W Inverter wired to a 12V Power Socket Plug to run a Toro 5 Amp trimmer and a Hedge Trimmer at times. I have never had a problem using the set up except for a fuse or two in over five years of use.

Grass or Hedge Trimmer, 25' extension cord and you have a light weight neat little package that can easily handle small jobs.

They don't like the noise and carbon moxide the trimmer producing. I am surprised they don't attack you!

Another tool for trimming limbs would be Remington 12 foot 10" chain pole saw. Cheap and if proper chain maintenance will last long time. Plus the chain saw can be removed and used as elect small chain saw. Cuts great and powerful.

BY chain maintenance I mean keep the tension adjusted, clean, and sharpen the chain after every use. Loose chain will eat up the plastic parts so that's REAL important. Dull chain will become back breaking trying to trim limbs 12 foot up tree with the saw just bouncing around and not cutting.

I have 50 black jack oaks that I trim. and the pole saw till looks and runs like new after 10 years. For about 119 bucks new shopping around hard to beat if you have generator, extension cord, and patience. And of course keep proper care of it.

Most people never sharpen, clean the bar and sprocket area, or keep proper tension on the chain.That will kill any saw especially cheaper ones quick. Then they complain they are junk. Not true usually it is the owner fault IMO.

I have a Greenworks cordless mower and just bought their cordless trimmer. The mower comes with an extra battery that fits the trimmer.
They are both wonderful. I had corded before and these are much easier to deal with.

If the bees don't like the sound from the gas trimmer, what are they going to "think" about the sound from the gen-set ? Or do you plan to keep it far enough away to not be as audible ?

There's a genset running fifty feet away, then there's a two cycle revving five feet away.
