sears garage door opener not working

Posted by mbrownone none (My Page) on

Hi, new to this forum and welcome some advice about my earlier sears garage opener model 139.535.

Replaced worn drive gear which was fairly simple and straight forward. But now none of the remotes or wall mounted button works unless I disconnect the small white "lego-like piece" in front of the electric motor. It appears to have 5 or so pins which slide into it. Obviously it was connected before, but nothing happens when it is together and wall button is pressed. I didn't allow the motor to run long before pressing the button again to stop the chain from moving. Can someone tell me what is happening? How can I correct this? I've been double cheching wire connections and everything appears to be where it was when everything was fine (before the drive gear teeth wearing out). Thanks for any advice....

Please show a Pic or link to the matter or part that you are describing. I have 2-3 Sears Open’s manuals I’ll check the trouble shooting section when I see your ref..
