How to disassemble Okatsune pruners?

I have the Okatsune pruners shown here:

On my Fiskars, I can easily remove the nut, but this one is shaped very oddly, as if it's not meant to be removed. The nut is curved on top and there's very small surface area where it squares out, if that makes sense. Does anyone have experience disassembling Okatsune pruners?

Makes sense. For the this type of nut is called a Stover Nut. Much like an Acron with the top removed.

Channel-Locs, Vise Grips, 12 point socket or a Cresent wrench should all be able to remove the nut with ease.
