I don't have one of the models you're looking at, I have a 210s and would highly recommend it. It's got a little smaller engine but has plenty of power with the 26" bar and weighs a pound less. That pound doesn't sound like much but when stretching out or up it makes a difference. It clips through Yew, Ligustrum and Holly up to a half inch usually on the first pass. It will chew through larger stuff if you want it to.
I haven't had any problems out of mine with about 2-3 years of use on it. It appears to be a well made machine.
I don't know if it's quieter than an Echo, but it seems quiet to me. It sure seems quieter than a Stihl model I had, sometimes what bothers one person doesn't bother another and sound perception is different than sound pressure measurments.
