Please give me your opinion on these two. Which one should I buy? Both are 30" double side hedge trimmer, both are about 24cc. Both are good price in Wisesales.

I end up buying the Shindaiwa M242 with short articulate hedge attachment. I get a free string trimmer attachment too for $576 out the door.

I am so glad I went this route. I can do everything with this that I need to do with a regular trimmer. I feel I can cut a straighter surface than a regular trimmer because I would stand farther away because of the length and can see better. It is just as easy to handle as my Echo HC151. It is quiet and cut good.

I would recommend others to consider a short reach hedge trimmer when they are in the market of a hedge trimmer. I found being able to articulate not the most important feature unless you have to cut overhead a lot. I found myself mostly put it at straight position.

Thank you....I am sort of in a similar position and have been keeping an eye on you.

I am looking at the Echo HC-150 (mainly due to price/performance). My current Craftsman Electric Trimmer is underpowered. This might sound like an ignorant question - but why did you feel the need to get another one (considering you own the 151)? Thanks again.
