Fuel/Oil mixture for a Homelite K-300 String Trimmer?

I just picked up a used Homelite K-300 trimmer at a garage sale and wondered if anyone knew the proper fuel mixture. It is not stamped on the cap, and I have looked for a manual on homelite's website and all over the internet to no avail. I think someone else has the same problem as well, since there are several unanswered posts on other sites, but gardenweb usually has the answers to my questions. It is a 25cc engine...I would assume 40:1 or 50:1, but would like to know for sure. I sent an e-mail to Homelite, but figured with the holidays I would not hear back for like a week. Thanks to anyone that know or has one. ACE

I don't have one but I read this question being asked about older trimmer. If you use JASO FB, FC or FD oil, you can't go wrong with 50:1, If you worry, 40:1 is not wrong, just don't go over 40:1 because there was a detail test that over 40:1 will raise the operating tempurature over 10 deg which is not good for engine.

50:1 is what most trimmers uise with good results. Use a good quality oil like Echo or Stihl and it should run ok.
