presser washer Tecumseh float bowl attach

I have a coleman vantage Tecumseh 3.5 vantage model TVS90 43739M pressure washer. I removed the float bowl to clean the main jet and can't get the main jet to reattach/rethread into the engine. It's driving me crazy. I removed it but can't get it back on. I twisted the float bowl different directions - that didn't help.
Any ideas before I take it to the dump?

Are you turning the bowl bolt the correct way, to install the bowl? Remember: "Lefty-loosey/ Righty tighty"!

Absolutely. The bowl seems level - I've done this many times on other units - dosen't make any sense. I threaded the bolt directly to the unit without the bowl and it fastens securly - so I know the threads are OK. thanks..
