wood chipper blades

Posted by kdooz wi (My Page) on

Does anyone know if there are any improved blades for wood chippers? I have an MTD Yard Machines 10hp chipper/shredder. I have a lot of white spruce branches that I am chipping. They are pretty tough and stringy. It seems to me that if the blades had some teeth on them they would work better. I have searched for blades and all I can come up with are the stock blades. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

RE: wood chipper blades

Ive just taken mine out and sharpened them with my bench grinder. My chipper has gone through junipers, pine, oak, maple, etc.., and they just keep going with periodic sharpening. They sometimes produce strings instead of chips too.
