A bad Weed Eater Power Edger PE 550 experience, for my friend, that borrowed his neighbor's edger and me.
1. Do not borrow power equipment vs purchasing your own.
2. Do not estimate a job before the equipment is disassembled and analyzed (toward time and cost). This was my worst time estimate after I watch a youtube on what we felt was just a broken pull start rope.
The rope probably broke because a screw had backed out and caused the pull string spool to melt. Worst, the shaft snap ring grove on that side of the housing that retains the spool melted off also. The plastic parts might not be as expensive as our time.
This has gone past the time and a project I agreed to "Coach" to replace the pull string. I was looking for the experience Only and it will be "An Experience To Remember". I hope my friend "Finds This An Experience To Remember". As stated, I feel "The Plastic Parts will not Be as Expensive as Our Time" (the spool is only 9.00 new).
You Live And You Learn But I forget!!
