Maybe restricted fuel or fuel tank's inlet air is restricted. Give some history on age and past services. loger

The trimmer is about 4 years old and it hasn't had any service other that draining of gas in winter. I used it several times this year with no problem. I went to crank it one day and the cylinder was full of gas. I cleaned all gas from cylinder and crankcase and when I tried to use it is when it started its problem. Want get up to speed and eventually stalls. It turns freely when the plug is remove with no appearant seizing.

Juat fuel circuit fouling most likely. Even after only 4 yrs you should check the fuel filter for restriction also . Clean the fuel circuits with carb cleaner and retune the jets , if you are currently using ethanol fuel get use to periodic cleaning unless you get some Stabil or Startron or Lucas fuel additives.

Cor: Just an addendum to my previous post . The cylinder flooding is an example of the carb gumming or residue issue which apparently has caused the fuel inlet needle to stick open and flood your unit . Let us know how you make out with the cleaning . Sometimes a sharp tap on the carb base will dislodge the rersidue and save you from dismantling the diaphram to clear the inlet needle seat . If the clean or tap does not solve your issue be careful removing the diaphram to avoid over stretching or tearing it . Go Slow :)
