Another question about heating weeds

I read the discussion about using a propane burner to heat/kill weeds. Sounds like heating doesn't get high marks for 'permanent' removal. (I know, nothing is permanent)

I recently read about a different tool - the ecoweeder - which doesn't put out a flame but does create a very high infrared heat that supposedly kills weeds. See www.chemfree-weedcontrol.com/products.php

Our local paper said it would kill convolvulus arvensis and, with repeated applications, bermuda grass type weeds. Does anyone have experience with this type of heat treatment?
