Speeco log splitter quality???

| I recently purchased a 22 ton Speeco log splitter "in the box" from Farm Fleet. Speeco also make Huskee splitters. As I opened it up and started to assemble I noticed that the quality of welding, especially on the shorter lengths of weld on the beam, were sloppy in places and inconsistent. They were not bad enough for me to hassle getting it back on the pallet and up into my pickup to return but poor enough to raise long term reliability concerns in my mind. I shared my concerns and pictures with Speeco. I am told that their engineer thinks the welds look fine. So I will use it and see what happens over time. Speecos are not top of the line splitters or the highest cost either, but I think they should still have better quality control on their welds. My suggestion to folks looking at the Speeco splitters is to take a close look at their construction and draw your own conclusions before purchasing. |

At the rate that training schools are turning out dumbos, i can understand how your machine looks bad, in the welding department. Granted, there are some schools that do turn out qualified welders, and they do great work, but---was that machine made in the good old U.S.A?
there's where you should look! On the Mfgrs. label. Where was it made?
I just got a phone call from some dame, said she was from the TV company. Thats all i could understand. She garbled her words so badly, i told her to have an American person call up, so i could understand the message--and hung up! |
