Homelite Chainsaw only runs at high speed

| I have a Homelite 18" Timberline chainsaw. When I first start it, it runs strong and idles fine. I adjusted the idle "T" screw out counterclockwise so that the chain doesn't move at idle. However, once I try to cut any wood at all, the saw will only run at high speed regardless of whether I pull the trigger or not. It will not idle down so that the chain does not move. I have tried to turn the idle speed screw out further but nothing helps. Any ideas would be helpful.
Thank you, Jack. |

| Sounds like your mixture screws are turned out too far. Try re-adjusting the low speed and high speed mixture screws. |

| Your Timberline probably has a Walbro carb so the Hi/Lo needles are set for 1 full turn out. Be sure to check that the carb is firmly screwed on. |
