i am looking at purchasing a single stage snow thrower either a Troy-bilt 21" single stage from Lowe's at $459.This machine is 4 stroke (5.5hp) with a auger type of blade and electric start. The other is the Toro 2450 with electric start (2 stroke 5 hp) with a paddles to throw the snow. The cost of that unit is 649. Any suggestions?

Another one of my option would be to purchase the Toro Recoil 2450 that would lower the price to 499 at Home Depot.

These that have the rubber auger style wear quickly and clog easily. Stay with the scoop type paddle versions.

Go the Toro, they are snow eating machines!!

Also well built and a great history on Reviews!!
