How to change transmission belt on Countax K12.5 tractor mower

Posted by lordgaz (My Page) on

Hi All,

I have a Countax K series tractor mower and I need to replace the transmission belt.
I need (I think) the remove the pulley wheel attached to the engine spindle so I can get the belt located - but when I try to undo the bolt, the engine turns over and there is no apparent way of 'locking up' or preventing the engine turning.
I am also aware that the bolt may not need to be turned anti-clock wise to undo - So I hope someone can give me some guidance./

Cheers
Gaz

Yes, you really need to remove the pulley wheel. But I am not sure what's the reason behind the engine turning. i apparently not aware of how to 'lock' it so it will just come off so you could do your way to the belt.

Here is a link that might be useful: transmission tools
