i need advice on selecting a tractor

I have a Yardman, B&S 18HP twin, 42 inch cut, hydro trans. fender control tractor with about 600-800 hours on the clock -- a 1994 model/a little long in the tooth. i mow about a half acre on lawn on a 1+ acre lot. I would like to put together a list of possible replacements for "ole Bess" before she bites the dust. The Yardman has served me well so its basic parameters are certainly a good place to start. I need the fender control hydro as I am disabled -- a foot control won't work for me. i like the smooth running twin and 42 inch two blade deck. i know what will work just can't seem to find a make/model.

Any ideas in the $1500-$3000 range?. .. New or used?

Husqvarna (American Yard Products, Electrolux) makes a hand drive Hydro Garden tractor although the one I have seen is a 54" (GT2654 I think). But they also list an LTH1438 lever drive hydro which might work for you at around $1500. Dip and splash lubrication on that unit would not be ideal if you had a hilly yard.

Here is a link that might be useful: Husqvarna Comparison
