Help choosing a mower

I have to replace a 10 year old Troy Bilt 42" mower with bad transmission. I live on a lot with 10 to 20 degree inclines. The side of the driveway is what scares me. I have to ride it sideways not enough room to go up and down. I sit on the edge of the seat to the side in some area's hoping I don't turn over. I am a 2 year widow learning how to use a rider fairly well. I have gone to a couple of equipment stores checking on new mowers. One said to do a regular rider like the Husqvarna 42" and the other said to do a Zero turn like the Snapper 200Z. I am first looking for the safest ride. I have chains on the back wheels now to keep from spinning and it still spins at times and gets stuck. I want a mower with dependable transmissions that can be serviced. The front and back yard is about a 10 degree that doesn't scare me. Have to stay with a 42 due to access on one side of the house and building door. Any suggestions about choosing a zero or tractor? Any suggestions about brand? Thanks
