| I have a Kubota g1900 with 400 hours for 3500 or a John Deere 455 with 850 hours for the same price. The jd has more bells power steering, and such, but twice the hours. Both look good, with nothing needed to start mowing. The Kubota has a 54 inch deck while the jd has a 60 inch. Trying to find the right one, the one that will last and not give me any down time, like my last Sears pice of $%##&. Any ideas on which one you would buy. Thanks

| 850 hours on a JD 455 is NOTHING. heck, it is just getting broke in. either one is a good machine, so look at what dealers you have nearby for support(you WILL need it) and which fits you better. use the one you get to tow your craftsman to a cliff and push it over. |

| Either machine would be a great choice, and the advice about having a dealer you can reach may be obvious but it's obviously good. A lot of the guys doing grass contracts around here use these machines and keep them for many years. The JD 455 is famously robust and durable. If the Kubota doesn't have power steering (personally I've never seen a G1900 that didn't) that would make it a pain to handle in the tight stuff and I wouldn't even consider it. |

| D-59 I beleive the message David was inferring to was eventually we all may require Dealer assistance lol not that JD was inferior in any way . |
