There is a brass tube, about 1/4" by 1", sticking out of the side of the carb, just about the hemispherical bowl. That's where the fuel line attaches. Below is a link to a site that describes rebuiling the carburetor.

javert - thanks for your Walbro link info. It cleared up alot of mystery. My next problem is connecting the choke and throttle links. Any info would be helpful.

not being an AH here but basic procedures would of probably came in handy? usually notes or pictures would be taken when taking something apart that were not familar with. This way when we go to put it back togather we have an ideal where things go???? Now if this is a basket case your trying to put back togather then online owners manual maybe helpful?

Have a 15.5 hp Kohler with LMK carb. Carb allows gas to fill up the throat and leak into the cylinder when at rest. I've cleaned the needle seat carefully with spray carb cleaner and a que tip, inspecting to ensure no cotton left inside. Then put in new needle valve. Still does it. Anyone else have this problem? How to solve? I'm suspecting seat has minor imperfection and new carb is needed, but expensive. Other ideas? Mike

A quick 'n cheap fix is to install an inline fuel shut off valve. Of course, one must remember to use it. Kohler also came out with a seat kit for these this past winter, but they aren't very economically priced.

Also chk crankcase oil ASAP for raw fuel in oil (smell dipstick). If present, drain/replace oil and filter now - contasminated oil will not properly lube engine (expensive repairs).
