Repair or Replace JD 2006 135 Automatic

Hi Folks,

My JD 135 Automatic is going in for diagnostics this Monday to determine if the drive belt or transmission is bad and one or the other needs to be replaced. Tractor just started losing power last week going up slight slopes in my yard after mowing for an hour or so. Engine is working just fine

It will be 8 years old this July and has 362 hours on the engine.

I'm hoping for the best (+-$200 for drive belt/idler pulley repair) but preparing for the worst (+-$700-$800 for the transmission replacement).

The engine is a 22hp OHV Twin manufactured by Briggs & Stratton.

My question is to all the engine experts out here on the tractor forum:

Can I expect the engine to last another 362 hours or +- 8 years to match the lifespan of a new transmission?

If not, then a new lawn tractor seems to make sense financially.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks in advance for your help.
