sears lawn tractor wont start after stalling with pto on

I started my mower for one last snow blowing this spring but it stalled out after I engaged the electric pto clutch. Now i can started it. I think the clutch is locked in engage so the safety switch is blocking it from starting. Is there a way to reset the clutch?

You might post the Sears 917.xxxxxx number so one would have some idea of WHAT Sears tractor. There's only probably a couple thousand Sears tractor models.
