Replacing the fuel filter, a normal maintenance item, didn't occur to you?

You may have to elaborate on the blade stopping issue. The proper fuel filter for your engine is the Kohler 2505007s. This filter is not see through, so certainly the wrong filter has been installed. Allow some of the fuel to run into a catch pan from before the filter when you change it to look for water/ debris. A larger bodied filter especially can cause the stall that you are having. Of course, it could be simple water or debris in the float bowl as well.

Thanks for responding, gents. Actually the problem wasn't the fuel system at all. After considering the changes in tractor position I thought the problem might be a chafed wire that was allowed some movement. Eventually I found a chafed white wire in the bundle next to the steering toothed plate located at the bottom of the steering column. Apparently over the years the rotating plate against the wire took its toll. I Spliced the problem and things improved. However, blades and eng. would stop after short runs. Turning down hill to the right cleared the problem momentarily and blades and eng would recover. Problem: Oper. Pres. SW. Changed out switch, everything works fine once again. I think heat through the switch for 11 yrs got to it. Thanks for your time and opinions. I really enjoy everyones input. I enjoy learning from your combined knowledge.
