I have a John Deere riding mower. It was making a noise so I shut it down and discovered that one of the blades is hitting the deck. Only one side of one of the the blades hits. Is the shaft bent?

If only one end of the blade is hitting, it is more likely that the blade is bent.

If just 1 blade tip on 1 blade hits the same spot, or even another spot on the deck, that blade is likely bent.
If both blade tips on the same blade hit the same spot on the deck, then it is likely that the deck itself has bent, causing the blade spindle assembly to have tilted some from its normally parallel orientation to the deck.
