Need expert help! My GX345 with 450 hours was missing a piece of the drive belt so I replaced it, Took it for a test drive and reinspected my work. The idler pulley was very hot so I replaced it and the bushing. The new one is also burning hot. Any suggestions?

I would think that the hot feel is caused by friction from the belt running in the pulley-s. If the belt smokes, or is very hot, maybe you got the wrong belt, or it has the wrong cross-section, for your application. Did you buy an original equipment manufacturers product, or get one from the hardware store, or wherever? An OEM belt will have the correct shape for your machine.

The belt should be part number M142499.
