At least tarp it - use some brick/stones to keep wind from blowing tarp off.

L&G power equip't just isn't designed/built to stay out in the elements like a car. They do best shedded in a dry place.

Bear in mind that the local rodent population loves to set up house in stuff that's outside and rarely moves. With rodents comes snakes and depending on where you live that could be bad news.
