Greetings,
I have a 2004 TroyBilt Pony tractor that will run great for about 5 minutes and then stall. I can immediately restart it, and run it again for 2 minutes, and then it stalls. I can repeat this process ad infinitum.
How long it takes to stall is _VERY_ regular, usually at the same point in the loop around my cutting area, meaning it stalls after the same length of time (after the first time, which is somewhat longer).
In between stalls, the tractor works perfectly fine, cuts great, engine is strong.
I have replaced spark plug, air filter, gas filter.
I have tried clearing out the gas cap, even running with cap mostly off.
I assume since i can restart it easily, the problem isn't with the coil.
This tractor has a back fire solonoid, could it be this thing is losing it's magnetism and closing or something?
Or what else would cause this behaviour?
thanks,
dave
