I will not use them.

Water, bearings, belts, steel deck and wet grass do not make a very good combination to me.

Worked great on my single blade 21-in. walk-behind Toro with aluminum deck. Different situation though...

Unless absolutely all the grass residue is cleaned from under the deck and thoroughly dried, then using this feature will just capture and hold moisture against the deck and promote earlier rusting. If you use this feature then I would recommend applying a heavy dose of WD-40 to help dry and protect the underside afterward .

I am from South western West Virgina. I got the handle from the 70's when the back to earth movement was going on. We helped many that did not have a clue with their garden and farming. Taught some to operate a farm tractor and the attachments along with how to grow food and some livestock.

Mine worked pretty well. Sure a lot easier than removing the deck monthly to scrape to keep mulching performance aeros up to par.
Need to run it for 5 to 10 minutes with the blades engaged immediately after mowing for best results.
Would I recommend it? Nope. 5-10 minutes after every mow is a lot of water $$$ and it isn't perfect, you still need to remove the deck at the end of the season and power wash.

I have a large ZTR. When the fellow brought it over (with a mechanic), they both said to only use compressed air to clean anywhere and everywhere on the machine.
