briggs 15 hp vanguard intermittent shut down

Starts fine the first time runs for 5-10 mins then starts to shut down with some popping. Choking it seems to keep it running varying between choke and not. Seems to do this after first 10 mins but once I get it to run without choke it usually runs fine for hours. Not always but usually. It seems to be getting harder to get back running more and more. Almost seems like it just cuts out like flipping a switch has plenty of power when running.

Help!?

I'd replace the fuel filter.
Even if that's not it, it's probably due and you can eliminate that as a possibility for just a few $.
