Briggs & Stratton 26hp Intek V-Twin

I am in the middle of re-ringing this engine. I have been able to remove and inspect everything but the governor gear. I don't know how to remove it!

The Briggs manual: "Intek V-Twin Cylinder OHV Repair Manual" just says: 'Remove governor gear and thrust washer'. But, they don't tell you HOW to remove it! Great manual....

Anyway, can anyone please tell me how to remove the governor gear. See governor gear in picture below....
