cub cadet 2000 series won't start

I have a 10 year old 200 series cub cadet riding mower. Last year, the ignition switch started to get really loose, we had to completly turn the key a 360 arc to get it to engage and start up the tractor. Last weekend, it let go completely and would not engage at all. I replaced the ignition switch but now, when I turn the key, nothing happens, lights don;t even come on. Battery was good the day it died. I replaced the relay behind the ignition switch but no dice, nothing happens. checked the fuses and they are good. Any ideas on what I am missing?
