Craftsman Lawn Tractor

I cannot find my book to give you the model number, but the mower is a Craftsman Lawn Tractor with a 21 HP 42" cut and is about 4 years old.

Started up fine and easy today. Cut grass for about 1.5 hours. Shut it off to blow debris from walks, patio, and drive way. Used the blower to blow dust and clippings from the mower.

When I went to start it to put it back in the shed, all I can hear is a light "click" from the front of the mower somewhere around the carburator/air filter.

No other noise, nothing. Anyone got any ideas what to check?

Thanks for your help and advice.

Did you possibly leave the deck engagement lever/ switch on?

the "light click" was probably the afterfire solenoid that is located on the bottom of the carburetor. This is normal when the key is turned on.

I agree with Tomplum to check the blade engage lever first. This must be turned off. Next - make sure you are depressing the brake pedal all the way.

If the starting problem is not resolve, respond.

Look under the seat for the Sears 917.xxxxxx number.
