I have a craftsman dyt 4000 with a briggs and stratton model number 445777 type 0168-e1. Mower was running great, got off to move something left it idling and it just died. hasn't started since. it tries to turn over then dies with kind of a whining noise (sorry, don't know how else to describe it). New solenoid, new starter, new plugs, new gas... do i just need a new mower, trial and error is killing my check book

How do you define "turning over"?
We define it as the engine cranks.

You probably need to charge the battery & test it, assuming it "tries to turn over".

Also, these engines need the valves adjusted on occasion to insure the compression release works.
