| The tractor won't start. I have replaced the spark plug, new fuel filter, replaced the gas(cleaned out the tank), purchased a new battery.
I also changed the soleniod and replaced the ignition coil. Still nothing. It tries to crank, but will not start. Took the stroud off and the flywheel turns without restrictions. Help. Craftsman 16.0 HP Electric Start. model # 917.271080 with a Kohler engine model # CV16S, spec # 43519 |

| If you are saying it doesn't even attempt to fire/ run- try a burst or two of carb spray down into the carb throat and crank it. If it tries to run then, likely a fuel system problem. If not, then ignition becomes the next likely cause. Let us know what you find |

| What do you mean by "tries to crank"? Does it actually crank or just "try to"? |
|
| Hello guys!!! I have tried the short burst of gas in the carb and no start. Also the term tries to crank refers to. It cranks, but won't start. I have already spent some money on parts. But I think I will stop and get a more professional diagnosis from you guys on the forum. |

| After trying the short burst of fuel into carb without success. I removed the nut under the bowl to see if fuel was getting to the carb. The bowl was fulled with fuel. Upon removing it fuel spilled onto the garage floor. |

| remove plug(s). place plug(s) to get good metal to metal contact with engine block and plug wires attached. have assistant turn engine over using ignition switch. you observe plug(s) closely for bright blueish white spark at anode(s). If no spark or weak yellowish spark, fix ignition. if good spark, ck for sheared flywheel key or kill wire chewed on by mice, etc. get kohler engine numbers off engine - go to kohler engine website - download manuals, parts lists, etc.... and take plenty of pix of whatever you decide to take apart as guide for re-assembly. |

| Took the ground off the coil. Now when I sit on the seat I hear a click from the bowl on the bottom of the carb. It also sounds different when I try to crank it. |
