JR L120 won't start

After changing air, oil filters & oil, Wouldnt start or crank. Was able to start it once after numerous tries. Then it wouldnt turn over or crank, but i could hear a click noise near the carb only. Thought it was the key switch, which i replaced, now nothing. Charged & tried boosting the battery, still nothing. Even the hour meter won't display now. Can i bypass the battery, to see if its the connection, or could it be something else. Any thoughts?

Was it running and starting OK before you changed the air and oil filters and oil? Did you oil the air pre filter?

The click you hear is the solenoid in the carb.

Have the battery load tested.

Check BOTH battery cable connections at BOTH ends.

Check the fuse.

Did you install the CORRECT key switch.
They aren't all the same internally.
