i have a power kraft 18 hp 42" cut riding tractor i changed the belt on mower deck it went on fine. but when i put the deck in the all the way up position to start it the pulley from engine where the deck belt hooks on touches the deck. anyone know why or how to fix

should be a belt routing diagram decal on your machine or in your manual ? Would consult with such and recheck....

i did recheck the belt is on right just that pulley from engine touches the deck in all the way up position, in the mowing positions it runs fine just when i disengage blades the pulley hits deck

do you have the deck leveled per the manual? ifr badly out of adj, may be hitting where it should not.
