Kohler difficult to start

gnawbone

My father-in-law has a Snapper zero-turn with a 25 hp Kohler twin that won't start without using starting fluid (ether). Once it starts the first time he can start it multiple times that day but the next day or thereafter he has to use starting fluid.

The mower just started doing this near the end of the mowing season last year - I changed plugs and that didn't really seem to help much.

I'm not much of a mechanic (oil changes, grease, belts, broken bolts, etc) - any suggestions?
