Cub cadet

Have a cub model 13wr91at009 with about 100 hours and it has been running fine. Last time at end of cutting yard, noticed when I let up on go pedal,it keep moving very slow, did it also in reverse. After going max speed front and back,it quit crawling and acted normal. Read on this board about oil getting hot,but was not a real hot day and my yard is very level,so oil shouldn't have been hot. The forward and reverse pedals did not seem to be binding and seemed to be normal. Could this be the start of a hydro problem?
Also, when I cut grass high,it leaves a little grass in center of cut, like the blades are not overlapping, are they any blades that would work better than the factory ones? Thanks
