| I heard a noise down by my garage, so i stepped out to see what was. There sat my neighbor across the road, just parking his old dark green lawn tractor by the garage door! I asked whut was up, and he said it was a gift, for me! Well, gee, i thought that was really swell, so we shook hands, he left, and i checked it out. A Kohler engine, which sounds ok, tires holding air, deck not rusted out. Battery not good, but ya can't look a gift horse in the mouth, can ya? I never do that.
This guy has fitted his other dark green Craftsman tractor with a snow plow, and rigged it up with an electric lift, using a winch from HF. Last year, i bought him a case of dark beer, so i guess its all gone by now! That was in appreciation for him plowing out my driveway, of 25 inches of snow! |

| Well, i checked the tractor out. Battery is good, but it just won't crank the engine with the key switch.. Guess i'll check the solenoid first. If i put a jumper cable to the post on the starter, it will crank. But, today, i hauled four junkers to the scrap yard. A sorry looking bunch, parts missing, and none ran. I'm trying to do a yard clean-up, but folks keep leaving more things. PARTS IS PARTS! RJ |

| Said tractor took a new solenoid, some touch up paint on the steps, and a lawn test. All seems ok. Guess it'll go out front to wait for its new owner. (Not decided yet) Right now, my wooden leg caused a sore spot, so the tractor is doubling as a power wheel chair! It'll take several days to fix the sore spot, but tain't the first time it happened. It feels better today, so i can sit on a stool to work. RJ |

| Yeah rustyj, you need to be real careful in dealing with any sore spots like that. The last thing you need is to get some kind of infection in your leg. Take care and take it as easy as you can. :^) |

| Thanks, Mownie, for your concern! I'll be taking it easy for the weekend, although a member of "The Firehouse Clan" has died, and we're having a wake for him tomorrow! Gotta be there. We've all been very good friends for 30 or more years, and he's the first one to go! The Big C got to him. Been sick for 7-8 months. Its he-- to get old! I'm staying well, as long as i can. My medicine is a brewski a day. Works fer me so far! RJ |
