Help in Buying a Mower

I had made a post before on my old mower - and I think its time to get a new one. So, I would like opinions of some choices I am thinking to buy. I have 2 Poulan Pro mowers & 2 Husqvarna mowers. Now first question is the compnay names - any preference of one over the other?

I have a fairly small yard - 1/2 acre city lot. I am tall guy 6'6" - big build. The Husqvarna choices are 22hp 46" cut & 18.5 hp 42"cut B&S motors
The Poulan's are 15.5HP 42" cut or 17.5HP 46" cut.

Looks like the Husqvarna's are nicer from the videos I saw - but just would like some opinions - Thanks dave

My opinion only.
The 46" Husqvarna will get you a better engine (V twin) than the
the 42" Husqvarna (over-extended single cylinder).
Both Poulans seem slightly underpowered for the width of cut in my opinion.

Husqvarna over Poulan without any hesitation whatsoever.

Find an authorized Husqvarna dealer rather than buy from a big box store.

I see one of the Husqvarnas has a pedal operated hydrostaic transmission where the 42" doesn't it is a lever type next to the seat - does the pressing use by your foot tend to make this more sustable to problems//??

Pedal controlled hydro is easy and more intuitive to use.

You need to find a real L&G dealer and test drive some stuff.

I don't think you will have any more problems, I wasn't too sure about the foot pedal either when I first bought mine but now I love it.
